Spring-fed lakes are all over the state,  and get their clarity from the underground springs that feed them. Some water in these lakes is so clear that you can see straight to the bottom, making them perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The cool, refreshing water is a welcome escape from the hot Florida sun. In the case of our nonprofit, the water is greenish and not completely see-through but still very refreshing and gator-free. Perfect for baptisms, children's play, fishing, and vessels' launching.

Many spring-fed lakes are located in state parks, nature reserves, or private estates, sometimes turned into nonprofits, like The Alabaster Land, which is proud to offer visitors and guests the chance to explore the great outdoors and surrounding wilderness. With hundreds of trees and bushes, picnic areas, and outdoor facilities we make it easy for anyone to spend a day or a weekend immersing themselves in nature!

These lake areas are home to a diverse array of wildlife, both above and below the surface. From fish and turtles - that hatch here yearly - to birds and insects, there is no shortage of creatures to admire in our spot. Keep an eye out for beavers, which make their home right across from our beach, and falcons that are also known to frequent these spring-fed lakes.

Funf act: all the water at the property is well-fed and comes from our awesome sprig-fed lake. So it's important to remember that this is a delicate ecosystem that needs to be protected.
